Sources and method
Where each part of this site comes from
The issuer list shown here is taken directly from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange's own published list of listed companies. Nothing is added to it or removed from it by this site.
Session times for local trading mirror the schedule the exchange publishes for its own market. Dates when the market is closed are drawn from the exchange's calendar; each one is confirmed against the official notice issued for that closure before it is used.
The exchange does not grant permission for its prices to be republished on this site, so no price is displayed for locally listed shares. Charts for US shares are supplied through a TradingView widget embedded on the relevant pages.
Company descriptions are assembled from Wikipedia and Wikidata. Every profile carries a note of where it came from and when it was retrieved, so a reader can trace it back.
What this site does not do
- It calculates no price and no index value; every figure shown is reproduced as received.
- It offers no commentary on direction, no target and no view on whether to trade any security.
- It does not act as an adviser, and nothing on these pages should be read that way.
Pages are regenerated whenever the source material behind them is updated, so what appears here reflects the latest available input rather than a fixed snapshot.
